Meet Emily Lynn Dzieweczynski, one of our on-site artists. Based in Minneapolis, USA, Emily’s work explores empathy — with people and the universe. Their work celebrates the poetics of science and technology by transforming data, analysis, and scientific literature into something felt. During their residency, Emily hopes to tie threads between their interests in humanity and the environment by creating prototypes for an Environmental Memory Database. This interface could be accessed globally to record, document, and collect memories that pertain to natural and urban environments. Additionally, she hopes to explore other means of memory preservation through scent, sound, and photogrammetry.
