Building and breaking leave the same marks, and this is where the work begins. The pieces shown here belong to a larger body that Judge has been developing over several years, an ongoing inquiry into material and time, and how time accumulates in layers: in city surfaces, in the wear of materials, in the places where destruction and construction become indistinguishable. Working on-site across urban and industrial settings, Judge paints and draws machines and tools that have outlived their original use, mapping their structure and the second life they take on. These on-site drawings are the foundation for a larger body of installation work, bringing together interactive sculptures, sound, and lighting, which will be shown for the first time at the upcoming Open Studios on June 19th and 20th, 2026.
