This piece moves through fragments of domestic and cultural memory, bringing together home video footage and scenes of Black life. Images surface and disappear through static, repetition, and low-resolution video, creating an archive that feels both intimate and difficult to fully access. The work considers the space between recognition and knowing; the experience of encountering a face, place, or moment that feels familiar without being entirely legible. Rather than treating the archive as a fixed evidence, Hum approaches memory as something continuously reconstructed through fragments. What remains is not always a complete image, but a trace or the feeling of having seen something before.
