Poison, 2026

Poison embodies my radically pro-transgender ideology.
This work takes double inspiration from the 1989 video game Final Fight. The title refers to the character of Poison, a trans female character who was first introduced in this game, and the words are a direct quote that appears on screen as you battle your way through the city. By including both references in the same work, I explicitly invoke ideas of trans self-defense in the face of federally-sanctioned cultural genocide. When we cannot trust anyone, we can trust our trans siblings, and we can certainly trust our fists.
