Osteosarcoma Baltic birch Plywood //

75cm x 75cm x 60cm 2026

Osteosarcoma is a deconstructed chair, whose design takes inspiration from the hostile, anti-homeless architecture that has come to infect shared urban spaces. This form is in direct tension with the object’s function as a domestic furniture – any body that occupies the lounge chair is forced to become conscious and careful during the act of sitting. Osteosarcoma removes the body entirely: presenting the seat slabs of the lounge chair behind glass and adding a final layer of abstraction between the object and its intended audience.

Osteosarcoma is created by Petr Karpov – an artist, architect, and dj from the United States and Russia. Through a practice shaped by process and participation he creates objects, installations, and performances. At GlogauAIR, Petr distorts functional forms, creating works that unsettle an audience’s physical relationship with everyday structures. The future lives and uses of the exhibited objects remain unresolved, emerging through personal contact and the shifting conditions of shared spectatorship.
