Alma Sinai is an Iranian interdisciplinary artist primarily working in printmaking, videos, drawings and installations.
This stop-motion video is shot through her studio’s window at GlogauAir during different nights. The image in the background is exactly reflecting the building across the street. In the process of making this piece she left an open space for a back and forth dialogue between inside and outside by using the environment as an activating factor to the work. While hovering in a state of flux and through the repetition of the same gesture, the meaning gets lost, added and distorted.
You’ll be able to see more of Sinais’ work during our Open Studios this week Friday and Saturday, December 17-18th!
