Stimulating Taiwan Streets, 2025
Mixed media
Variable measures
Having been in Berlin for less than a month, I often find myself instinctively comparing the city’s streets with those of Taiwan. Yet this distant sense of nostalgia most frequently appears through the closest object to me—my smartphone screen. In our contemporary visual culture, perception is often mediated by a thin layer, a screen or interface. Similarly, the showcase window functions like a screen, creating a space between viewer and image. In this installation, I simulate fragments of a familiar Taiwanese streetscape, interwoven with the visual language of digital media. It is an attempt to merge media, memory, and place—where the textures of home momentarily resurface on the streets of Berlin.
