Statement

Adrian Iz Nettere’s lighting and sculpture practice is a study of the opacity and translucency of images and materials towards generous ways of seeing. He sees perception as a scaffold, indulging projection, distance, and fiction in encounters with another. His work draws on creative science collaboration with neuroscientist Ida Momennejad and their work together on memory and its material substrate. Adrian was a 2025 Creative Science track member at NEW INC, the New Museum’s incubator for emerging art and technology. Recent exhibitions include: COLLECTIBLE, Brussels 2026; The Collective Brain, HKW, Berlin 2025; GUI/GOOEY, Plexus Projects, New York 2024. Pieces from his project Ballerina Lighting are available for purchase in the New Museum store in New York.
