Ceramic Lamp Workshop

November 22, 2026 | 13:00 – 15:30

In this workshop, you will design and hand-build a ceramic wall sconce light. Beginning with a slab of clay, you will learn the design process for ceramic lighting and develop an original piece that considers the interplay between form, light source, shadow, translucency, and wall.

Students will learn hand-building slab construction techniques, lamp wiring, and understand how to design for light source and wall mounting. You will be guided throughout the design and construction process. The workshop is suitable for both beginner and advanced ceramicists; previous experience is not required.
