At GlogauAIR, I aim to deepen my personal research into the ideas behind my most recent imagery. I am interested in forms of incomprehensibly large motion, such as the orbit of planets or the slow shifting of tectonic plates. I think about the human experience in relation to these monumental processes, particularly the rare moments when these vast movements become perceptible. In these encounters, there is a strange tension between distance and proximity.

Complementing my conceptual exploration,I will continue my investigations in wood carving and pyrography while incorporating painterly components. I am eager to reintegrate paper into my practice by layering it onto wood works, as well as discovering new ways it might appear on the wall to create surprising presence in space. Through the residency I hope to further synthesize and blend the processes I have been working within.
