Ollie Kendrick is a visual artist currently working with emotional narratives that surround the post-industrial landscapes of the United Kingdom. His work draws from his childhood in Wolverhampton where the loss of major industries (particularly the Goodyear tyre factory) has left an empty space where a particular type of grief and boredom circulate.
The work, composed of raw rubber frames and an aluminium reflected selfie, seeks to create a dialogue between the loss of collective identity within post-industrial areas and the vacuum that is now occupied by virtual and digital forms of being and meaning.
