It takes one to know one is an installation that includes drawings and sculptures. In the installation Lars van de Grift creates a playfield with hidden and unhidden structures. The structures and images are dealing with created fantasies versus experienced reality. Perceiving an image is influenced by someone’s fantasy. A fantasy creates an expectation or projection. When does reality match your fantasy or expectation? Lars is playful with their fantasies and seeking the humor and seriousness that arises from the unbalance between fantasy and reality.
