These suspended art pieces are diary entries for artist Bryn K. McConnell, documenting discoveries she made while exploring Berlin. McConnell constructed each work by weaving thread, paper, and wire into a mental grid structure. Her distinctive material language is inspired by the historic and patchwork-like construction of Berlin’s sidewalks. McConnell often collects materials while walking the city, like a magpie. Through these delicate and imperfect objects, she invites viewers to look more closely at the ground beneath their feet, to consider what came before them, and to reflect upon the impact of their footsteps.
