Bags of Sighs, 2026
Air pillows, fabric, bags
90 cm x 60 cm x 27 cm
I bought bags for my work materials. I read they could hold up to 120 kilos. Debris, heavy loads. I’ve filled them with everything, and they weigh nothing. They take up space and offer no resistance. Sigh. Expectations of weight reshape gestures. Minimal gestures, constant and conscious. It’s not a load if air is what’s inside. Sigh. I don’t know if lightness is the absence of weight, or the way you hold it. I carry bags of kisses that feel like debris. But I don’t mind carrying them. How to hold weight without ceasing to perceive subtlety?
