Lara Ordoñez holds a doctorate in Artistic Production. In addition to her academic career, she has held several solo exhibitions in collaboration with internationally renowned galleries and has participated in international art fairs, receiving numerous awards for her artistic and academic work. Her work is part of the collections of institutions such as IVAM and the Hortensia Herrero Foundation.

Ordoñez’s work is characterized by the use of traditional textile materials and techniques. Through the language of textiles, she addresses themes such as memory, identity, and the passage of time from a perspective of observation and direct experimentation with materials and space. The materials Ordóñez uses in her work are directly linked to each specific project. These materials come from the environment in which she is at that moment: wool, raa, esparto grass, or cotton, for example. The process of
selection and preparation prior to weaving on the loom is a central concern and becomes part of the artwork.

Ordóñez’s interest stems from traditional forms of knowledge transmission, generally through oral tradition, and is strongly linked to work by hand in spaces occupied by women. The project she is developing during her residency at GlogauAIR centers on the residency space itself and includes research into the Bauhaus Archive's Textile Workshop.
