33 (Zixuan Wang) creates paper-based works and installations through a practice of memory poetics, exploring the flow of memory and existence. Rooted in the softness, vulnerability, and viscosity of materials, her work investigates cross-sensory perception and resonance, pointing toward a drifting poetics of memory suspended between what is deferred and what remains unwritten. She also works as a sound artist, experimenting with modular synthesizers to explore temporal and linguistic gaps, navigating between historical narratives and spectral territories. DJ33de9 is her club alter ego.

During the residency, her work focuses on the space of childhood play—through beading, marbles, teddy bears, and slime—as an entry point into the fossilization of memory. Adopting a deliberately playful and post-sentimental sensibility, it re-imagines childhood memory through the coexistence of tenderness, dark humor, and estrangement.

For the open studios, she will present an exhibition featuring video works, sculptural installations, and interactive elements that transform memory into an immersive landscape. Rather than framing nostalgia as a return to authenticity, it positions memory as mediated, unstable, and continuously rewritten. Through processes of recollection, distortion, and forgetting, the work seeks to sculpt time itself, constructing a fragile castle of memory.
