Founded in 2011 by Gaowen Zhu in Berlin, Zhong Gallery is the first Chinese-‐invested gallery in Europe. Adjoining to the Mitte and the Museum Island, Zhong Gallery is located in a central borough of Berlin with prestigious reputation in art and culture. As a core cluster of contemporary art organizations and cultural activities, this area has attracted artists, architects, designers, art medium and creative workers worldwide.
Zhong Gallery aims to prompt and support Chinese contemporary art and artists overseas, and to foster the communication of art between China and Western countries. Exhibitions it has held includes Dawn – New Art from China, Shedding – New Art from China, Mulanxi – Unsettled, I am the Landscape, Attitude – Berlin Film Festival Documentary Show, Problems and Standpoints, Media and Experiment, Chinese Contemporary Ink Art, and so forth, all arousing widely public attention.
