Maria Gamsjäger studied Stage Design at the University of Arts Berlin. Her theatrical spaces are functional spaces that co-evolve, shape and dissolve along the dramaturgy. She realizes her projects with different artistic means and in different media and always remains in the in-between in her work. One focus lies on spatial installations that form a closed system. She explores the things we use and the way we use them. How do we structure ourselves within our thoughts, our spaces and the world? The unconscious plays a big part in the choice of images, objects and processes. A retreat into simplicity runs through much of the work.
