Wir existieren und wir bleiben

From 07/11/2025 to 12/11/2025

WIR EXISTIEREN UND WIR BLEIBEN
Queer Visibilities in Photography

7th – 12th November, 2025
Opening: 7th November 2025, 6–10pm
Opening Hours: 12–7pm

“Wir existieren und wir bleiben“ (we exist and we are here to stay) is both a photography exhibition and a protest shining a spotlight on queer experiences—from intimate portraits and everyday observations to activist imagery. On display are the award-winning works of the queer photo award GAZE, which invites queer people to make their personal perspectives on queer life visible and to confidently take up space. Photography becomes an instrument of self-empowerment. The focus is not only on the final image, but also on the question of the meaning of queer visibility. Who looks at us and how? And what does it mean when we share how we see ourselves? When we bring our images together and recognize each other? When we encourage each other to raise of voices and say: We exist and we are here to stay!

Zine as a tool of subversion. Zine-making workshop
November 11, 6:30pm
Small, cheap and easy to make as well as fast to produce, zines have always been tools of resistance, accessible sharing of knowledge and organising in marginalised communities. In the first part this workshop guided by Sára Král (she/her), we will briefly look into the history of zines and their purpose in (not only) queer spaces as well as discuss their importance (not only) today. The second part will be dedicated to hands-on zine-making where we will work on a collaborative zine together.
No previous experience needed. Tools for the workshop will be provided by us ❤️
You will leave with 1 zine we’ll make together at the workshop, (hopefully) some new zine knowledge & some new friends. :-)
This event is open to people of the LGBTQIA+ community only!
Limited spaces, please register via DM or gaze@vielformat.com
