Sometimes, on a day like any other, I feel a longing to be somewhere else. I picture a journey to a far away land. In my daydreaming, I search for that place, until inevitably a doubt appears: I will never arrive at this place. What if I dropped all of these romantic metaphors and set out to find something? In a familiar setting, untroubled, within my surroundings, looking at seemingly banal scenes.
One Swallow Does Not Make a Summer is an exhibition project by artists who met each other through various seminars at the Ostkreuz School of Photography. This project has been collectively curated by these artists. They drew the photographic works out of the series where they originally appeared, and re-arranged them as a diverse assemblage across the exhibition space. In this way, individually created pieces begin to speak to each other, allowing new perspectives to arise.
Works by Karin Kutter, Sabrina Michael, Masha Pryven, Rainer Stosberg, and Sabrina Weniger.
