The Romanian born artist Tiberiu Bleoanca transports us into a fantasy world inspired by technology, imagination and memory in his solo exhibition Blast Off!

Tiberiu’s art is influenced by science-fiction, pop culture, car culture, motor sports, the World Wide Web and T.V imagery. For Tiberiu, an artist who grew up under the shadow of Communism, kosmonauts, space travel, and new forms of technology are recurring motifs. The kosmonaut—a figure whose helmet and suit evokes both astronaut and pilot—intersects formally with automotive imagery and the aesthetics of speed, producing dynamic and playful visual narratives.

Tiberiu holds an BFA and an MFA from the University of Art in Cluj-Napoca, Romania and has been in numerous solo and group exhibitions in Romania and Berlin.
