Anji Lesourne draws her main references from a variety of international  painters for their construction of an imaginary through both figurative language and abstract expression. Lesourne represents human figures and portraits of a symbolic figure that allows her to delve deep into the intricacies of emotion and expression, challenging the viewer’s perception and inviting the viewer's introspection. The artist brings a diversity of perspective and ways of representation to present and often asks the question:

How do I reconcile the timeless beauty of classical painting with the boundless possibilities of modern interpretations? Can I find common ground between the past and the present, forging new connections?.
