Open Studios // June 2016

Every three months since 2009, GlogauAIR artist residency has been opening its doors to the public in the Open Studios event. This two-day event aims mainly at showing a more processual and human side of the art and the art world usually kept away from the spotlights.

In the June 2016 edition, from Friday the 24th to Saturday the 25th, eleven resident artists from six different nationalities (USA, Japan, South Korea, Australia, Brazil and Poland) and diverse artistic disciplines will be personally presenting the projects they have been working on during their stay in Berlin. Besides the Open Studios GlogauAIR is also hosting MFA STUDIO BERLIN’S student (USA) in the Project Space, situated in the ground floor of the building. There will also be dance and music performances, a video-musical show and the artists’ talk When Science meets Art.

In an informal celebratory atmosphere, the public will be able to enjoy an unforgettable inspiring experience of two days surrounded by a unique environment bursting with creativity. People will have the chance of getting to know the materials, the techniques, the ideas and the artists behind their productions, to talk to them, discuss with them, exchange ideas and experiences. It will be an opportunity for the public to step inside the artists’ personal working and living space, thus having a privileged position to deeply understand what moves them and what leads them to create.

Open Studios June 2016 starts on Friday the 24th from 20:00 to 24:00 and goes on until Saturday the 25th from 16:00 to 22:00. GlogauAIR’s eleven current resident artists will be showing and explaining their projects inspired by their experience in living in Berlin, along with MFA STUDIO BERLIN University’s guest exhibition, dance and music performances, a video-musical show and the artists’ talk on When Science meets Art.
