Rui Su was born on December 30 1974, Qingdao city, Shandong province. He studied chinese painting in China Central Academy of Fine Arts, graduated in 2007 from the painting department, obtaining in 2011 a master's degree in literature as well. In his works, he develops a particular and sublte interpretation of the traditional subjects of chinese painting, creating suggestive views of a personal world which joins a mastery of the process with contemporary references.
In 2007 he won the first prize for undergraduates majoring in Central Academy Of Fine Arts Creation, with his works The summer flowers.
Rui Su has exhibited in Beijing 798 art district in the BEING 3 gallery, the China Shenzhen international ink painting biennale, the Korean Culture Institute and in Miami Beach International Art Exhibition.
He participated in the exhibition Untoldstories: Chinese Experimentai Ink Painting in the Tyne And Wear Newcastie uk Museum, and his solo show Half a snail shell life traces was hosted by the Singapore Aart House.
