Silas Fong (b. 1985) works with moving images and film photography. With an intense interest in time and space, his research topics mainly explore urban city life and the subtleness in interpersonal relationships. His practice lies between traditional visual art perspectives with a tension to new media art theories.
The obsession of Fong towards stranger is immense. He has been trying to create imaginative space between himself and strangers he met in the public space, both in his life and art. These experiences draw him into fantasy. Recently he furthers this fantasy from previous work ‘Surveil the strangers’ to imaginative dates and distorted stories, and further turn himself into an “Interview service provider”.
